Increasing expectation that Boris Johnson will stand in the Leadership race

The race to be the next PM is taking shape as candidates are throwing their hat in the ring. Rishi Sunak is currently the only person standing who has more than 100 MPs support – the threshold necessary. Boris Johnson, despite not publicly announcing his plan to enter the race, had been backed by 57 MPs. Boris Johnson backer, and Business Secretary Jacob Rees-Mogg has said Mr Johnson is “clearly” going to stand.

Lady Leshurr charged with assault

The 34-year-old rapper has been charged with two counts of assault resulting in actual bodily harm, and will appear at Thames Magistrates Court on Monday. Police officers were called to a fight on Knotts Green Road in east London in the early hours of Saturday. The Metropolitan Police force confirmed two women, both aged 27, were taken to hospital but have since been discharged.

Woman dies in Stratford stabbing

One woman has died, another injured, in a stabbing in Stratford, east London. Officers were called to a residential property on Windmill Lane at 3:35am. Two women, both in their late 50s, were found with stab wounds; one was later pronounced dead at the scene, the Metropolitan Police force confirmed. The force are attempting to trace a man who was “believed to be known to both women.”

Winner of The Masked Dancer revealed

Scissors, the winner of series two of the show, was revealed as American actress and dancer Heather Morris. Adam Garcia as Onomatopoeia came in second place, with Pearly King in third. Pearly King was revealed as Italian Bruno Tonioli. The former Strictly Come Dancing judge tried to put on a London accent to fool the judges. To read more, click here.
